India funded research Project titled “Assessing population dynamics, genetics and breeding patterns of threatened mountain
ungulates for species recovery and community based conservation in Western Himalayas”
1. Position Advertised Project Associate I
No of Positions Three (03)
Monthly Emoluments @ Rs. 31000 + HRA For NET qualified; Rs. 25000 +HRA for Non-NET candidates
Age Limit 35
Project Duration Two years
Essential Qualification(s) M.Sc. in Wildlife Science/Biodiversity Studies OR
M.Sc. in Forestry/ Zoology/Vet. Sc. & AH from a recognized university with significant proven experience in
Wildlife research
Desirable Qualification(s) Candidates with UGC/CSIR NET and M.Sc. in Wildlife Science/Biodiversity Studies and Management with
good field and molecular research will be preferred
2. Position Advertised Technical Assistant

Monthly Emoluments @ Rs. 20000 + HRA
Age Limit 35
Project Duration Two years
Essential Qualification(s) Candidate with B.Sc. in Agricultural and Allied Sciences/Natural Sciences and basic knowledge of field work
willing to work in remote areas for the duration of the project to assist in field data collection.
Desirable Qualification(s) Masters in Wildlife Sciences/Forestry/Zoology with experience in wildlife and good skills in computers, and
molecular research

by or before 20 February 2026. Shortlisting for the interview will be based on essential qualification, percentage of marks in Bachelors’
and Masters’ Degree, relevance of specialization in the Master’s degree, work experience (including Publications and Paper Presented
in Workshops/ Seminars/ Symposiums/Conferences), and extracurricular activities. The shortlisted candidates will be notified through
email separately for the interview, tentatively scheduled on 25th February 2026 at Meeting Hall, Directorate of Research, SKUASTKashmir, Shalimar.
Terms & Conditions:
1. The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project.
2. The candidate engaged shall not have any claim for absorption in the SKUAST-Kashmir.
3. The selected candidate shall be on probation for sixmonths and will be reviewed periodically for performance and if found
unsatisfactory, the engagement shall be terminated.
4. The selected candidates shall have to remain stationed at the respective field stations across Jammu & Kashmir and
eastern Ladakh, under the project.
