Walk-in-Interview on Thursday, April 02, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. onwards for the post of one Project Associate-I
Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Project Associate-I in the DBT multi-institutional project entitled “Manipulating agricultural traits for better plant growth, stress tolerance and fruit quality in tomato”, under the supervision of Dr. Saloni Mathur, Scientist, NIPGR.
Project Associate-I (one Post):
Emoluments Rs. 31000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.
Qualification: Candidates should have Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST-OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, are eligible to apply. Candidates should have good academic record having first division, National Eligibility Test-CSIR-UGC NET lectureship (assistant professorship) or GATE OR who have been selected through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions can apply.
The candidates having prior hands-on work experience in working with abiotic stresses like heat stress, non-coding RNAs, CRISPR/Cas9 and transformation in tomato is desirable.
The upper age limit of the post is 35 years.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointments will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Thursday, April 02, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 09:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on April 02, 2026. Any candidate reporting after 10:30 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, copy of publications and original degree/experience certificates for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note: Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
