PhD in Biotechnology / Biochemistry
Microbiology / Plant Biology /
Bioengineering / Agricultural
Microbiology / Life Sciences from a
recognized university.
Should have
strong experience in design and
development of research experiments
related to plant physiology, functional
biology with at least one first authored
research paper in SCI journal.
Candidate should have strong
experience in genetic engineering,
organelle biology, synthetic/structural
biology, or metabolic pathway
modification, preferably in rice
photosynthesis with good analytical skills
and familiarity with omics approaches
(transcriptomics/metabolomics) and
bioinformatics tools will be preffered.
• Engineering and functional characterization
of ribosomal protein encoding genes in rice
• Measurements of photon flux under DSR
conditions
• Isolation of organelles and gene editing,
regeneration in rice.
• Organelle isolation and quantification of
biochemical enzymes.
• Organelle transformation, Plant tissue culture.

• DSR experiments
• Data Integration & Reporting: Analyze
experimental datasets (physiological, molecular,
gas flux) and contribute to LCA
• Assisting in project coordination and mentoring
junior researchers/students.

Basic knowledge of field experiments
and agricultural practices.
Candidate with
experience in handling field trials, crop
management, and soil sampling.
Familiarity with greenhouse work,
irrigation practices, and fertilizer
application.
Exposure to basic lab
techniques sample preparation,
weighing, data recording).
• Field Trial Management: Assist in layout,
maintenance, and monitoring of experimental
plots for crop productivity, data recording and soil
health studies.
• Sample Collection & Processing: Collect soil,
plant, and water samples and ensure proper
labeling, storage, and transport to the laboratory.
• Assist in field-based measurements, installation
and handling of sensors, and recording
observations.
• Logistics & Coordination: Support day-to-day field
operations at different locations, and coordination
with research staff.
