Indian nationals are invited for one (01) temporary positions of Project Research Scientist-I
(NM) under the project “Therapeutic Potential of Carnosic Acid in decreasing Astrocytic TREK1-
mediated Excitotoxic Alzheimer's Disease” in the School of Biological Sciences, NISER, Bhubaneswar
funded by ICMR, Govt. of India.
Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate degree, including an Integrated Postgraduate degree, in
Life Sciences/ Chemistry/ Molecular Biology/Genetics/Genomics/Bioinformatics/Zoology/Biotechnology
or an equivalent discipline.
The above qualification must be obtained from a recognized University/Institute.
Desired Qualification: Research experience in relevant chemical or biochemical, characterization
techniques with a background in chemistry will be desirable. Experience in interdisciplinary research
involving chemical and/or biological systems will be an added advantage.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹56,000/- pm plus HRA as per rules
AGE: 35 years as on 30.09.2026, age relaxation to entitled categories as per GOI rules.
The above position is purely temporary for a period of 1 year or completion of project
whichever is earlier and strictly co-terminus with the project. It would, therefore, not
confer any right/ claim, implicit, or explicit for consideration/ absorption against any
NISER post.

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate, for joining the position.

3. A statement of research interests and a brief project proposal related to ongoing work in the PI’s
lab.

5. Two recommendation letters to reach Dr. Swagata Ghatak by email to swagata@niser.ac.in at the
earliest.
The candidates who are short-listed based on their CV, research statement, and letters of reference
could be interviewed either in person or through video-conferencing before the final selection is made.
