PhD Position in Membrane Protein Structural Biology at ICGEB, New Delhi

A PhD position is open for Indian nationals who have valid fellowship from one of the following funding agencies: CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/DST-Inspire, to work on human and plant ion-channels involved in oxidative stress.

Eligibility: MSc in Life Sciences, Chemistry or Physics.

Experience: Wet lab experience desirable, but not mandatory.

Brief work description: PCR cloning, protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, in vitro and in vivo assays, liposome reconstitution, electrophysiology, crystallization using bicelles and lipidic cubic phases, X-ray diffraction data collection, crystal structure determination, structure analysis, cell culture and redox biology.

Facilities available at ICGEB: State-of-the-art X-ray data collection, protein purification, robotic nano-volume crystallization, CD, DLS etc. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with plant molecular biology and human immunology groups at ICGEB.
