Applications are invited for the position of one RA to work in a project entitled “Characterization of regeneration permissive environment created after spinal cord injury in zebrafish” funded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (2015).

Research Associate:

Essential qualification: Ph.D Zoology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or any other relevant discipline. The candidate is expected to develop and implement methods like establishing different injury model (dissection skill), histological and immunohistochemical analysis, confocal imaging, TEM, microinjection and general molecular biology techniques with emphasis to RNA work. Past experience on Zebrafish Genetics / Biology would be of added advantage.

Salary: as per DST Scale and HRA.

Candidates should be capable of maintenance of Zebrafish colonies, will also have the opportunity to be associated with gene function analysis of the ongoing project. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated, energetic, work efficiently and have a keen interest in Developmental biology / Neurobiology.

Tenure of appointment: The duration of appointment will be initially for one year from the date of joining but extendable upto three years depending on performance.
