W A L K – I N – I N T E R V I E W for engaging Project Assistant on Contract
The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Assistant for Project entitled “Biodiversity Conservation and Rural Livelihood Improvement Project (BCRLIP)” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Assistant is as provided below :
1 Engagement Position Project Assistant - GIS (one position)
Essential Qualification (EQ) Post Graduate Degree in Life Science/Environmental Science/Geo Information/ PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS/BE/BTECH
Desirable Qualification (DQ)
One year experience in data processing & spatial decision support system.
Desktop Publishing (DTP) skills
Knowledge of application of software’s vis. MS Office, Adobe, PageMaker, Photoshop
Experience in dealing with scientific data and preparation of scientific reports/documentation
Experience in Remote Sensing & GIS Work description
To complete, collate and maintain all information in GIS domain available in WII relating to the project and build a spatial decision support system
To assist in analysis and preparation of GIS maps for Project Landscape sites
To assist in modeling scenarios in event of Climate Change
2 Engagement Position Project Assistant – BirdsTaxa (one position)
Essential Qualification (EQ) Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/Zoology/Life Science/Environmental Science from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks Or M.Tech/M.Phill in any discipline relevant to Biological Science/Life Science/Ecological Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks
Desirable Qualification (DQ)
Experience of working on birds or other wildlife species
Aptitude and willingness to work in mountain environments.
Work description This study will involve carrying out field surveys for birds specifically galliformes in the pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand 3 Duration One year
4 Location of Project site Dehradun & Askot Landscape, Pithoragarh District, Uttarakhand
5 Age Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.
6 Emoluments Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (as admissible) / per month
7 Funding agency Biodiversity Conservation and Rural Livelihood Improvement Project (BCRLIP)
General Conditions 1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 29th August, 2016 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview. 2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, M.Sc./Ph.D thesis along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification. 3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. 4.
