The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging Project Assistant (2 positions for six months) and Project Biologist (1 position for one year) for Project entitled “Ecology of tigers with special reference to ranging patterns, dispersal and human-tiger conflicts in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh” purely on contractual basis. The EQ, DQ and other details of the Project Assistant & Project Biologist as provided below:

Engagement Positions Project Assistant (Two positions)

Duration Six months

Essential Qualification(EQ)

Master’s degree in Life Sciences (all branches of biology and ecology).

Desirable Qualification (DQ) Experience in Camera trapping, Line transect walks and Ecological data analysis

Description of Work Required to work in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve for tiger ecology and tiger human conflict.

Age Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

Emoluments Rs.14,000/- (Consolidated)

2 Engagement Positions Project Biologist (One position)

Duration One year

Essential Qualification(EQ)

Master’s degree/Ph.D. in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Botany/ Life Sciences with 60% aggregated marks and above from a recognized University. Should have minimum of 5 years’ experience with or without Ph.D. in subject relevant to Wildlife Conservation and Management.

Desirable Qualification (DQ)

Experience in Wildlife Monitoring using camera traps and radio telemetry, experience in abundance estimation/experience in Wildlife conflict assessment 

Good knowledge of Ecological data analysis. 

Candidate is expected to supervise research work in the field, maintain monitoring database and impart training to forest staff regarding wildlife and conflict monitoring.

Age Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of interview.

Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

Emoluments Rs. 55,000/- (Rs. 45,000 – base+10,000/- allowances)

General Conditions

1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 14th October, 2016 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications research experience along with certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.
