A walk-in interview will be conducted to fill the following post for a project titled “Patterns of
tree cavity occurrence and use by vertebrates in tropical forests of the Western Ghats: a
community web approach and its implications in forest management” funded by the Ministry of
Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of India.
Name of post: Junior Research Fellow / Junior Project Fellow
No. of posts: One
Duration: Up to 2.5 years or till end of project, subject to the performance of the fellow.
Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Zoology/Wildlife Biology/Ecology/Forestry/
Environmental Science with minimum 55% marks and NET qualification.
In case NET qualified
candidates are not available, non-NET candidates may be appointed as Junior Project Fellows.
Age, reservation and other service conditions are as per the guidelines and rules of MoEF & CC
and JNTBGRI.
Desirable: Experience in ecological research and good physique to conduct continuous
fieldwork in difficult terrains of tropical forests for weeks together.
Candidates with strong
research aptitude will be encouraged for Ph.D. registration.
Fellowship: Junior Research Fellow: 25000/ p.m. + HRA, Junior Project Fellow: 16000/ p.m. +
HRA.
