Applications are invited for the positions of a Project Associate and a Part-Time Laboratory helper/Assistant in a Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, sponsored project on “DEVELOPMENT OF PROCESS PARAMETERS FOR BIOCONVERSION OF DAMAGED WHEAT GRAINS INTO BIOETHANOL” to be executed in the Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with PSCST, Chandigarh. The duration of the project is 8 months and will expire before 31st March 2018.

Project Associate: - ONE 

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Microbial Biotechnology with at least 55% marks. 

Desirable: Research Experience/ knowledge in the area of Biotechnology of Ethanol Production from cereals or Fermentation Technology. 

Job Requirements: To do the experimental work related to the project, compile the results and to prepare the report. 

Salary: Rs. 18000/- pm (consolidated). 

Part-Time Laboratory Helper/Assistant - ONE 

Essential Qualifications: The candidate must be able to understand, read and write English, Hindi and Punjabi. 

Desirable: Knowledge of laboratory work and the laboratory housekeeping. 

Job Requirements: To assist the research team in collection of samples, experimental work, maintain/clean the laboratory space , its equipment and glassware on part time basis i.e. 4 hours a day. 

Salary: Rs. 6000/- (consolidated).

Exact date and time of the interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates separately by email. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview. The posts are purely temporary and will co-terminate with the project.
