Interview will be held on 10.08.2017 at 10:30 hrs at Peninsular and Marine Fish
Genetic Resources (PMFGR) Centre, ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources
(NBFGR), Kochi, Kerala for Research Associate and Senior Research Fellow (one each)
purely on contractual basis for the ICAR National Fellow project entitled “Development
of vaccines and diagnostic kit for the disease management of Goldfish Herpesviral
Hematopoietic Necrosis Disease in India'' at PMFGR Centre, ICAR-NBFGR, Kochi. Eligible
and desirous candidates fulfilling the below mentioned qualifications/requirements may

this notification (26.07.2017). Only short listed candidates will be called for interview at
PMFGR Centre, ICAR-NBFGR, CMFRI Campus, Kochi, Kerala. Short listed candidates may
appear for the interview with duly filled in application form (which will be sent to the
selected candidates for the respective post by email) giving full details of their academic
records and experience(s) along with self-attested photocopy as well as original copy of
the relevant documents and a passport size photograph on application proforma.
The details are as follows:
Research Associate – one
Project Period: Up to 12.04.2022 or co-terminus with the project
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 36,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- + HRA (as per eligibility) per
month depending on the category (As per F. No. Agril Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD dated
01.07.2015). ICAR NBFGR will decide the level/category in which a particular
research associate should be placed based on their experience.
Age: RAs - 40 years for male; 45 years for female candidates or as per ICAR
norms
Qualification: (As per ICAR Education division’s Office memorandum; F.No.
Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated the 13th July, 2015)
Essential: With Doctoral Degree: PhD in the fishery science or veterinary science
or life sciences with specialization in biotechnology or microbiology or animal
diseases or immunology.
OR
With Master's Degree: Master's Degree in fishery science or veterinary science or
life sciences with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st division or 60%
marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least two years of
research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/Training/other
engagements as circulated vide F.No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014.
Desirable:
Research experience in fish cell culture, fish virology, DNA Vaccine
production, fish serological techniques, Molecular
Biology/Microbiology.
First division in Graduation as well as Post-Graduation
Publications in relevant field.
Senior Research Fellow – one
Project Period: Up to 12.04.2022 or co-terminus with the project
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA per month for I & II year and Rs.
28,000/-+HRA for III (As per F. No. Agril Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD dated 01.07.2015)
Age: 35 years for male and 40 years for female candidates or as per ICAR
guidelines
Qualification: (As per ICAR Education division’s Office memorandum; F.No.
Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated the 13th July, 2015)
Essential: Master's Degree in fishery science or veterinary science or life sciences
with specialization in microbiology or biotechnology or animal diseases or
immunology with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's degree. Candidates having post
graduate degree in Life Sciences with specialization in animal microbiology or
animal diseases or animal immunology with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2
years Master's degree should have NET qualification as mentioned in the OM
SR/S9/Z-09/2012 of DST dated 21.10.2014
Desirable:
Research experience in fish cell culture, fish virology, DNA Vaccine
production, fish serological techniques, Molecular Biology/Microbiology.
First division in Graduation as well as Post-Graduation
Publications in relevant field.
