Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department
of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from
Indian Nationals to join in the following position.
Junior Research Fellow 02 positions
DBT project entitled ‘Development of seedless Bhimkol (Musa balbisiana, BB gemone) through
CRISPR/Cas9 and mutational approaches. (1 position)
DST project entitled “Studies on interaction of plant transcription factors in Full length
transcript–promoter fragment of plant infecting Petunia Vein Clearing Virus” (1 position).
Fellowship: Rs. 25000/- per month + @20%HRA for NET/GATE qualified Candidates
Rs. 12000/- per month + @20%HRA for non-NET candidate (as per DBT/DST norms)
Eligibility and Selection: Fresh Masters (who qualified not before 2017) in plant breeding and
genetics, Life Sciences / allied branches and having secured 60% aggregate marks (50% for
OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to appear in the interview.
Preference will be given to candidates having
NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE qualification with research experience in cloning and plant tissue culture.
Interested/eligible candidates need to bring duly filled up application form available in the
institute website (www.ils.res.in) along with self-attested copies of mark sheets and
certificates, as well as copies of any publications and research experience at the time of interview.
Initial appointment will be for one year and based on performance will be extended till the end of
the project.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the institute
Director, ILS regarding selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be
entertained in this regard.
