The following positions are to be filled up on a purely temporary and contractual basis up to 30-06-2019 in ICMR funded project entitled ‘Pilot scale bio-ecological studies on Aedes aegypti population in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu towards developing an alternate Dengue/Chikungunya control strategy’ at ICMR National Institute of Malaria Research, IDVC, Field Unit, Chennai. All eligible applicants are adviced to report at the venue sharp at 09.30 am and those applicants who are reporting beyond 10.30 am on the date of interview will not be considered.
1. Technical Officer: 1 post (UR)
Essential Qualification Graduate in Science /Microbiology /Medical Microbiology from a recognized university with five years work experience from a recognized institution
OR
Master’s degree in Virology/Molecular Virology / Microbiology
Desirable qualification and Experience
• Working experience in field collection of mosquito immature, sampling techniques, rearing of mosquitoes, adult collection of mosquitoes, insecticide susceptibility tests, screening and detection of virus in mosquito specimens.
• Knowledge of Computer applications
• Data recording and management, data analysis, SPSS, GPS plotting
Emoluments Rs. 32,000/-per month

Age 30 years (relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates)
Nature of Duties
• Planning and coordination of field activities
• Assisting PI in data management and analysis
• Execution and coordination of laboratory works
• Any other work assigned by Director/PI
