relevant subject after M.Sc + Ph.D.

Nature of Duties Prospective candidate is a self-starter, with strong commitment, good communication and
managerial skills and ability to work well under pressure and balance competing priorities in
a demanding work environment.
a) To provide support for planning, managing and implementation of laboratory
components of the project
b) Coordinate with district level officials in the implementation of the project
c) Prepare/ Revise study protocols/SOPs/teaching and training materials
d) Supervise data collection, transport, testing, reporting, QA/QC
e) Prepare the technical reports on status of the implementation of facility-based
surveillance (FBS)
f) Contribute to organizing meetings/workshops/training programs
g) Responsible for best practices in the laboratory components of the project.
h) Responsible for Best Documentation practices in the laboratory component including
maintenance of laboratory records, reports, inventory (logistics and samples).
i) Periodically undertake field visits to study sites.
j) Incumbent will be responsible for timely correspondence/updates on all aspects of FBS
with PI/ Co-PI and all others concerned on day to day progress of the assigned project activities.
k) Any other work assigned by the Director/PI/Co-PI/Supervisory Officer.

a) Perform Processing of CSF, Blood and other sterile body fluids for conventional and
molecular detection.
b) Perform bacterial identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing
c) Prepare media and reagents for above activities following good microbiological
practices.
d) Perform specimen and culture archival
e) Maintain stock of lab materials received and submit regular stock updates and indents.
f) Perform documentation and maintenance of all laboratory records
g) Perform bio-waste management
