Walk-in-interview 

Applications are invited to attend walk-in-interview for the Project Scientist-II (1 No) and Scientific Administrative Assistant/ field worker (1 No) positions under the DBT funded project “Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties” at ICAR- NBPGR, New Delhi. The eligibility qualifications, emoluments and other details of the position are given below. 

Project name: Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties 

Place: Division of Genomic Resources, Room number G206, NBPGR New building, New Delhi 

Tentative date of interview: 18th August, 2025 

Project Scientist II (1 No.) 

The post is sanctioned from 31 st July, 2025 to 30th July, 2029 

Rs 67000/+24% HRA Increment of 5 % for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review 

Essential qualification: 

 Doctoral degree in Science with specialization in Plant Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics, Life Sciences or any other related field from a recognized university or equivalent; and 

 3 years of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics tools and techniques as proven by published research papers. 

 Upper age limit: 35 years 

Scientific administrative assistant/ field worker (1 No) 

The post is sanctioned up to 30th July, 2029. Rs 18000 + 24 % HRA 

Essential qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline 

Desirable Qualification: Experience of plant phenotyping and raising crops in field and controlled conditions 

Upper age limit: 50 years 

Age relaxation: Age limits are relaxable to women for 5 years, SC/ST (5 yeas), OBC (3 years), Physically Challenged (10 years) as per Government of India rules/ICAR rules.
