WRITTEN TEST AND INTERVIEWS FOR THE POST OF JRF UNDER UGC- SPECIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SAP)
The UGC has approved SAP scheme to the University Department of Life Sciences, University of Mumbai. The research project under SAP scheme is entitled "Bioremediation and Phytoremediation of Industrial Wastes" which has been identified as a theme area of research. The research work on Bioremediation and Phytoremediation will be carried out under the guidance of various faculty of the Department, particularly Professor M.H. Fulekar University of Mumbai.
The applications were invited by University Department of Life Sciences, from eligible candidates for recruiting two Junior Research Fellows to work under the research project for a period of five years under the UGC SAP scheme. The candidates appointed will work with a salary of Rs. 12,000/- per month as per the UGC rules, initially for two years (to be continued further based on their performance).
Based on the eligibility guidelines provided in the Application Announcement, Candidates are now shortlisted by the Department for judging their suitability for the said Posts.
The Successful Candidates (who have already been contacted by the Departmental Authorities over telephone) are requested to appear for a written Test (objective type, no negative marking) of one hour duration in the subject of Life sciences at the Seminar Hall/ and Class Room/s of University Department of Life Sciences, University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari, Santacruz (E), Mumbai 400098 (Tel. No. 022 26528822) at 10.30 hrs on Friday, the April 28, 2010.
Successful (approximately 15-20 from those who appear for the written test) Candidates would be interviewed by the Selection Committee duly constituted as per the SAP Guidelines by the University Department of Life sciences in the Office of the Professor & Head, University Department of Life Sciences (first floor), University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari, Santacruz (E), Mumbai 400098 on the SAME DAY at 15.30 hrs.
The candidates will have to bear cost of their travel to Mumbai for the written test and Interview and stay while in Mumbai.
