A Walk-in-Interview is scheduled at this centre on 21 March 2014 at 10.00 am for the recruitment of two Senior Research Fellows under the ad hoc project entitled “Improving post rainy sorghum varieties to meet the growing grain and fodder demand in India Phase 2 (August 2013 July 2017)” funded by Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), Australia.
1 Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Essential qualifications: Masters degree in Plant physiology /crop physiology/ Botany/ Agronomy/ soil science / Biochemistry /Plant Breeding/plant science Desirable: Experience in handling field and controlled conditions experiments, managing and collecting required data sets in multilocational trials with the assistance of local scientists. Hand on experiences in using latest instruments used in physiological research. Well versed with computer applications and statistics packages
Rs 16000 pm plus 30% HRA PM
2 Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Essential: M.Sc. in Genetics and Plant breeding/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Plant sciences
Desirable: NET qualification, Experience in use of molecular markers for marker assisted selection (markers, mapping populations, linkage maps, gene/QTL mapping), PAGE / Agarose/ capillary electrophoresis etc. Use of genomic and bioinformatics tools etc.Experience in conducting field and lab experiments, documentation of data sets, data analysis, use of computer applications and others
Rs 16000 /pm plus 30% HRA PM
Terms and conditions:
1. Age: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women, the relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates is permissible.
2. The candidate are required to submit the bio-data in the format given below (affixing a latest passport size photograph) along with attested copies of certificates of educational qualifications at the time of interview. The candidates need to produce his/her original certificates along with a set of xerox and a photo list of publications and other documents such as experience and caste certificate for verification
3. The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project/scheme.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
5. The Director’s decision will be final and binding in all aspects.
