Subject:  UGC Non-NET Fellowship (2014-15) for pursuing Ph.D. at the Department of Botany

Applications are invited from the candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. programme in Botany, for U.G.C’s Non-NET fellowships (Rs. 8000/- p.m. consolidated + Rs. 10,000/- per annum contingency) in the subject areas of

1. Microbiology (Prof. Ved Pal Singh & Dr. Rupam Kapoor)

2. Ecology (Prof. K.S. Rao).

3. Systematic (Prof. A. K. Pandy)

4. Phycology (Prof. D.B. Sahoo)

5. Physiology (Dr. Renu Deswal & Dr. C.S. Seth)

6. Developmental Biology (Dr. Vishnu Bhat)

7. Molecular Biology (Dr. Priya Panjabi – Massand) . 

The maximum number of candidates that could be admitted during this year is twelve (6 general + 3 OBC + 2 SC + 1 ST).  Selected candidates will be considered for admission to Ph.D. programme in Botany if they get a recommendation of registration from one of the faculty members of the Department.  The candidate from General and OBC categories should have a good academic record with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in M.Sc. in the relevant subject and from SC/ST categories, they should have 50% marks in aggregate in M.Sc.

Duly filled application form along with copies of B.Sc. and M.Sc. mark sheets and certificates, may be submitted in the office of the Head, Department of Botany, Delhi University, Delhi – 110007, on or before September 13, 2014. Names of candidates eligible for interview will be placed on the University website on or before September 27, 2014 and interviews will be held on October 7, 2014 at 10.00 a.m..
