Walk-in-Interview for the selection of Junior Research Fellow (Four) and Young Professional – I (One) on contractual basis under the following projects will be held on 07.08.2018, 10.08.2018, 23.08.2018 and 27.08.2018 at 11.00 AM. The candidates should come for the walk-ininterview before 10.30 AM for the said date (s) for verification of certificates.

The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Eligible candidates may attend the Walk-in-Interview at the above address.

A. JRF under DBT – NE projects 

Candidates having First class in
(1) Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course or Ph.D. in the relevant subject are entitled for the remuneration of Rs.25,000/- + 20% HRA per month
(2) Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science are entitled for the remuneration of Rs.12,000/- + 20% HRA per month

1. DBT funded project entitled “Management of low temperature and soil moisture deficit stresses in banana growth in North Eastern India”

M.Sc. (Agriculture) specialized in Plant Physiology / Biochemistry or M.Sc. (Plant Science / Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Biochemistry) with Ph.D.

(i) Computer knowledge in MS Office supported by minimum of diploma certificate
(ii) Experience as JRF / SRF

M.Sc. / M.Phil. / Ph.D. (Life Science with Biotechnology specialization) or M.Sc. (Agri.) / Ph.D. (Plant Pathology) with Molecular Biology specialization or M.Sc. / Ph.D. (Biotechnology) To do Ph.D. at ICAR – NRCB

M.Sc. (Agriculture / Horticulture) or M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering / Packing Technology / equivalent degree) or M.Sc. (Post Harvest Technology / Biochemistry) or equivalent degree Experience in package designing, smart packaging, post harvest studies Analytical skills and handling of instruments

M.Sc. (Agriculture / Horticulture specialized in Plant Pathology / Microbiology / Applied Microbiology) or Integrated Degrees like B.Tech. and M.Tech (5 years) or M.E ( 4 + 2 years) or M.Sc. in Basic Sciences (Microbiology / Applied Microbiology / Plant Pathology / Biotechnology) Work experience in cloning, transformation, gene expression, transgenics, molecular biology, Bioinformatics to analyze genome data

1. DST funded project entitled “Breaking frontiers for the improvement of plants natural defense against pathogens in Banana (Musa species) through genome mining”

YP-I

Rs.15,000/- (consolidated)

First class in M.Sc. / M.Tech. majored in any branch of Life Science (Botany / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / and / or other related fields)

 At least 1 -2 years experience in plant tissue culture and basic molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR and cloning.
 The selected candidate expected to register a Ph.D.
