
The Bird Monitoring Group at Nature Conservation Foundation is seeking a Project Coordinator to work on a multi-year project to improve the quality and quantity of bird data available for conservation. The project will focus on addressing bird data gaps in data-deficient regions in the country. This role is supported by The Habitats Trust and is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about travel, fieldwork, and about birds in general. The role requires a candidate who can join us as early as possible after accepting the offer.
Location: Bangalore, with travel across India as required
Key responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee fieldwork for bird monitoring in data-poor regions
Manage project logistics, timelines, and deliverables
Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
Collect and analyze data, and publish results in scientific journals
Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and partners from the region
Requirements:
Birding skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ecology, or a related field
Proven fieldwork experience, preferably related to bird monitoring
Strong project management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel extensively across India
Proficiency in data analysis and writing
Salary: 40-50k per month based on experience
