Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) and
Project Technical Support
1. Applications are invited for one post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
with fellowship of Rs. 56,000/ + 20% HRA per month sanctioned for initial one year and
extended up to 3 years under ICMR sponsored Extramural project entitled “Design and
development of pyrimidine based pharmacological chaperones with higher affinity
for phenylalanine hydroxylase: Search of potential drug candidate for
Phenylketonuria (PKU)” (project code: P-14/0809) at Centre for Genetic Disorder,
Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University. The post is purely temporary and coterminus with the project.
Eligibility: Ph.D. in Human Genetics/Genomics/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Zoology
from Indian University/Institute with NIRF ranking or those who have done PhD from
abroad. The candidate must have at least two original research publications in Q1 or Q2
journals or SCOPUS / Web of Science listed journals.
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates having research experience in
“Human Genetic diseases/molecular diagnostic/cytogenetics.”
The candidate should have
excellent experience in cell culture & molecular biology.
Age: 45 years (5 years relaxation for female SC/ ST/physically handicapped candidate
and 3 years for OBC candidate).
2. Applications are invited for one post of Project Technical Support with Rs. 20,000/ +
20% HRA per month sanctioned for initial one year and extended up to 3 years under
ICMR sponsored Extramural project at Centre for Genetic Disorder, Institute of Science,
Banaras Hindu University. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the
project.
Eligibility: Intermediate (10 + 2) in Science/Biology from any recognized board or
institutions.
Desirable: Preference will be given to the candidates having
laboratory/clinical/field experience for at least one year. The candidate should have
experience in animal (mice/rat) and human sample handling.
Age: 25 years (3 years
relaxation for female SC/ ST/physically handicapped candidate and 1 years for OBC
candidate).
