Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Project Lab Assistant, the research project
“Understanding the epitranscriptome of HIV RNA and the contribution to pathogenesis” funded by the
Lady Tata Memorial Trust
Salary: Rs. 20,000/- per month. In case
of non-availability of residential accommodation, HRA @ 18% shall be admissible.
Duration: One year (extendable up to three years or until the project completion, whichever is earlier, subject to
satisfactory performance and availability of funds)
Essential Qualification: Applicant should have a minimum B.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biological Sciences. Additionally,
5 years of working experience in reputed organization/department(s), involved in managing the lab related activities,
has an understanding about the functioning of pathogenic virus research lab is desirable.
A basic knowledge of
laboratory molecular biology techniques like DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS
PAGE, western blotting, molecular cloning, RNA biology techniques like northern blotting and IVT RNA synthesis.
Experience in microscopy, culture of mammalian cells, handling and maintenance of mammalian cells, sequencing
(Library preparation and sequencing), would be desirable.
Age: Maximum age is 35 years for general candidates at the time of application (to be relaxed by 5 years for SC and
ST candidates and persons with physical disability)
