Applications are invited for the post of Project Scientist - I (Non-Medical) at a Fixed Stipend amount of Rs.
56,000 + 20% HRA per month in a ICMR Sponsored Project entitled “Personalized Mitochondria as a
Therapeutic Vehicle: an Organelle Mediated Gene Delivery Platform for the Treatment of Alzheimer's
Disease”. Interview for the selection of Project Scientist - I will be conducted at the Department of
Biochemistry, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli on 15.12.2025 at 10:30 AM
Upper age limit 35 years (Relaxation as per Govt. Norms)
Area of work : Molecular Neuroscience
Duration : 2 Years - The position is purely temporary, with an initial appointment for
one year, and extendable to one additional year. The position is co-terminus
with the project.
Fellowship : Fixed stipend amount of Rs. 56,000 + 20% HRA
Essential : First class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree in
relevant subjects (Life sciences / Neuroscience)
Or
Second class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree with
PhD in relevant subjects (Life sciences / Neuroscience)
Desirable: Experience in laboratory animal handling, stereotaxic surgery,
molecular techniques like western blotting, PCR, and Immunofluorescence
are expected. Excellence in manuscript and report preparation.
Preference / Weightage will be given to candidates who have cleared
GATE/NET/SLET or any national competitive exams.
Responsibilities : Maintaining a friendly, professional team work, and inclusive lab
environment.
Contribute to strategic planning, project management, and ensuring
goals and timelines. Maintaining clear research/administrative records.

Note:
1. The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation
on termination of the research project.
2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in the Funding Agency.
3. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview.
4. All the educational qualifications/certificates shall be from the recognized Board/University.
5. Experience shall be from the relevant field/area, as required for the study of the Project concerned.
6. The selected candidate should be able to join the lab immediately after the selection process.
