The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier
institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in
2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education
in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National
Importance by an Act of Parliament.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on
temporary and contractual basis under funded project:

Minimum
educational
Qualification & experience
Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience with neural recording
from awake animals is necessary.
Candidates, who have submitted their thesis, may also
apply.
Preference Candidates having experience in stereotaxic surgery,
tetrode / silicon probe / multielectrode
electrophysiological recordings and data analysis of
neuronal data will be preferred.
Consolidated emoluments
per month
Rs. 58,000 + 30% House Rent Allowance.
Candidates who have submitted their thesis but not
completed their defense will be designated as SRF and

paid Rs. 42,000 + 30% House Rent Allowance until
submission of provisional PhD certificate.
Tenure
of the appointment
Initially for a period of 6 months extendable for further
period subject to continuation of the project and
satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Not more than 35 years
Age relaxation commensurate with educational
qualification/s and / or experience/s of the applicant
may be considered for applicant/s having qualification
and experience higher than the advertised with the
prior approval of the competent authority.
