RECRUITMENT NOTICE NO.: THS/RN/11/2026 Dated: 23rd June 2026 

1. BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute conducts innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

2. BRIC-THSTI has built several inter-institutional collaborations and connectivity with industry supported by well-trained teams of research and laboratory staff. THSTI has established various centres namely (a) Centre for Maternal and Child Health, (b) Centre for Virus Research, Therapeutics and Vaccines (c) Centre for Tuberculosis Research (d) Centre for Microbial Research, (e) Centre for Immunobiology and Immunotherapy (f) Centre for Drug Discovery (g) Clinical Development Services Agency (h) Computational and Mathematical Biology Centre (i) Centre for Bio-design and Diagnostics. These centres are strengthened by many core facilities viz. Bioassay Laboratory, Biorepository, Biosafety Level-3 Lab, Multi-Omics facility, Experimental Animal Facility, Vaccine design and Development facility, Medical Research Centre, Translational Research Facility etc. that serve as huge resources for the research programmes of THSTI and also the National Capital Region Biotech Science Cluster and other academic and industrial partners. BRIC-THSTI trains the next generation of scientific leaders through many ambitious and globally competitive academic courses which promotes research and innovation through multi-disciplinary academia-industry partnerships. 

3. This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects: 

Project: Development of qPCR-based diagnostic array for surveillance of emerging and zoonotic viral and bacterial diseases (PRN 04) 

PI : Dr. Niraj Kumar 

1. Project Technical Support-III Four posts 

Rs. 28,000/- plus HRA 

35 years 

Date of walk-in interview: 9 th July 2026 

Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university with three (3) years’ experience in a research laboratory. OR Post-Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university. 

• Culture samples, for isolation and identification of bacterial isolates and performing antimicrobial susceptibility testing, preservation of strains, data collection and maintenance of records, and interlaboratory coordination; 
• Perform basic molecular techniques like nucleic acid extraction from clinical/environmental/research laboratory samples; design oligonucleotide primers, performing PCR/RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis and/or ELISA; 
• Cloning pathogen’s genes by PCR amplification from the genome or oligonucleotideligation method, site-directed mutagenesis using PCR; and/or 
• Predicting secondary structure of single-stranded nucleic acid using bioinformatics tools. 

Project : Identification of immunological and virological determinants associated with progression to chronic arthritis in chikungunya virus-infected patients

2. Project Technical Support-III 

Rs. 28,000/- plus HRA 

35 years 

Date of walk-in interview: 10th July 2026 

Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university with three (3) years’ experience in a research laboratory. OR Post-Graduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university. 

Desirable: Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology assays. 
• Candidate will be responsible for viral genome number estimation, neutralization assays, ELISA, and virus isolation from clinical samples during the project duration. 
• Data analysis and interpretation. 
• Basic knowledge of biochemical and molecular biology. Preference will be given to those with experience in cell culture and molecular biology assays.

Project: Development, preclinical evaluation and assessment of protection efficacy of a recombinant Hepatitis E vaccine in a non-human primate (Macaque) challenge model 

PI : Dr. Milan Surjit 

4. Project Research Scientist-I

Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA 

35 years 

Date of walk-in interview: 8 th July 2026 

Post-Graduation degree, including the integrated PG degree, in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 

• Working knowledge of recombinant DNA technology such as cloning, in vitro transcription, heterologous protein expression and purification, western blotting, mammalian cell culture, mouse handling and experimentation, ELISA, FACS etc. 
• He/she should be able to perform experiments, maintain records, write reports and order materials related to the abovementioned project. 

Project: Development of a Plug-and-Play vaccine platform utilizing OC43 virus backbone for rapid generation of targeted viral vaccines 

PI : Dr. Shailendra Mani 

5. Project Research Scientist-I 

Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA 

35 years

Date of walk-in interview: 10th July 2026 

Post-Graduation degree, including the integrated PG degree, in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university. 

• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques. 
• Expertise in virus preparation and virus neutralization assays. 
• Experience with the generation of pseudoviruses. 
• Experience in gene cloning, protein expression in mammalian cells and protein purification. 
• Familiarity with common laboratory techniques, including gel electrophoresis, molecular assays, and serological assays. 
• Work experience in a BSL-3 (Biosafety Level 3) laboratory environment will be preferred. 
• Experience in writing manuscript and grant annual reports.
