The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), established in 1965, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The institute is actively engaged in Research & Development (R&D) in core areas of toxicology and National Science & Technology (S&T) Missions. Its major areas of research include Environmental Toxicology, Predictive Toxicology, Health Risk Assessment, Preventive Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Analytical Toxicology, etc. IITR has two campuses. 

The Main Campus is centrally located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, while the Second Campus is situated approximately 20 km from the Main Campus. Eligible and interested candidates are invited to appear for the personal Interview for purely temporary engagement as 'Project Staff' under various CSIR or externally funded projects tenable at CSIR-IITR, Lucknow.

1. Project Associate-I (PAT-I) 

FBR050404 (04) “Occurrence, Toxicity and Remediation of PharmaceuticalActive Compounds (PhACs) in Indian Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) Water.” 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Zoology/Environmental Sciences/Biochemistry. 

Desirable Qualification: Prior experience in field sample collection and conducting bioassays in Daphnia magna model. Research activity involving STP visits, sample collection, and toxicity assessment of PhACs in D. magna model. 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry. 

Desirable Qualification: Prior experience in extraction/processing of environmental samples and analysis by chromatographic systems. Research activity involving STP visits, sample collection, processing, and instrumental analysis of PhACs in STP water. 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Zoology/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry 

Desirable Qualification: Prior experience of handling C. elegans model, microscopy and biochemical assays. Research activity involving STP visits, sample collection, and toxicity assessment of PhACs in C. elegans model. 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences/Microbiology/Biotechnology. 

Desirable Qualification: Hands on experience in microbiological, biochemical, molecular biology and/or bioinformatic techniques evident from internship/dissertation or related prior work. Research activity involving STP visits, sample collection, and routine microbiological analysis (culturing, biochemical tests, and PCR), and bioinformatics. 

2. Project Associate-I (PAT-I) 

FTT030602 (02) “Scaling up the multi-fume technology integrated with a sequential fumigation process and eco-friendly fumigants for safe storage of food commodities against insect pest infestations”. 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc., Toxicology / Zoology or M.V.Sc in Pharmacology/Toxicology/Pathology/Lab Animal Science. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience In Conducting Toxicological Studies in Aquatic, Terrestrial, and Mammalian Model Systems. To assess safety evaluation of eco-friendly fumigants as per OECD guidelines in mammalian and ecological model systems.

4. Project Associate-I (PAT-I) 

FBR090407 (01) “Mixture Toxicity of Emerging Contaminants and it’sCumulative Risk Assessment in Marine & Fresh Water Ecosystems (MIXTOX).” 

Essential Qualification: M.Sc., Toxicology / Zoology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry. 

Desirable Qualification: Experience In Field Sample Collection And Conducting Bioassays In Aquatic Organisms. Mixture toxicity assessment of emerging contaminants in Daphnia magna and Daniorerio.

MMP025304 (06) “CSIR Aroma 4.0: Driving Sustainable Rural Empowerment and Entrepreneurship through Aromatic Plants.” 

Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Biotechnology / Toxicology / Zoology from a recognized University or equivalent. 

Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to personnel with Research/Working experience in mammalian cell culture/ regulatory frameworks, and experience handling small laboratory animals, etc. To conduct the in vitro studies using cultured mammalian cells/ safety/ toxicity studies under the regulatory framework. 

6. Project Associate-I (PAT-I) 

HCP002601 (01) “CSIR-JIGYASA : Bridging scientists and school students for R&D Innovation and Outreach” 

Essential Qualification: Master's in Biochemistry / Microbiology / Toxicology OR B. Tech in Biotechnology. 

Desirable Qualification: Prior experience in Cell Culture and Practical Knowledge of High end Scientific equipments. To explain the working principles and applications of scientific equipment used in R&D, along with practical demonstrations of relevant experiments and techniques. 

9. Project Associate-II (PAT-II) 

SSP-540 (01) “Annual Inspection of GPls2026 operating in river Ganga & Yamuna main stem states” 

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Life Science. And 02 years of research experience 

Desirable Qualification: Experience in water/waste water analysis. Collection and analysis of water & wastewater samples, Report preparation, Statistical analysis, data analysis and science and technical reports/communications drafting

12. Project Technical Support -III 

GAP-447 (01) “Understanding Bisphenol-A Mediated Effect on Mitochondrial Protein Import Machinery and Neural Fate Decisions in the Rat Brain : Implication on Cognitive Functions” 

Essential Qualification: M. Sc / M. Tech degree in Biotechnology / Toxicology / Biochemistry / Biological Sciences / Life Sciences / Microbiology / Neurosciences from a recognized University. 

Desirable Qualification: 

Desirable experience of rodent handling, mammalian cell culture, western blotting, Real-Time PCR, Microscopy etc. To carry out the experimental neural stem cell culture and animal studies as proposed in the project. 

13. Project Technical Support -III 

GAP-477 (01) “Targeting the HDAC1- CIP2A-PP2AC signaling axis to overcome chemoresistance against standard therapy in non-small cell lung cancer” 

Essential Qualification: 

1. Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Zoology), or any allied subject, with three (03) years post-qualification experience in the relevant subject, OR 
2. PG in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Zoology), or any allied subject. 

Desirable Qualification: Candidates with prior experience in handling mammalian cell culture and knowledge of cancer biology/cell-signaling concepts will be preferred. Development of chemoresistant cell lines, cellbased assays, flow cytometry assays, animal model development, and establishment of patientderived organoids or any other project-related task.

15. Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT) 

MLP-002624 (FEST-GLABP) (01) “Hybrid Initiatives based on Exposome approach to leverage safer Human Health & Environment” 

Essential Qualification: Master's Degree in Zoology / Biotechnology from a recognized University or Equivalent. And 03 years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations, and Scientific activities and services, or a PhD in Biotechnology 

Desirable Qualification: Research experience in 2D and 3D cell culture, molecular biology, immunocytochemistry, western blot, etc. To conduct the in vitro studies using 2D/ 3D cultures derived from human iPSCs and mammalian cells.

17. Project Scientist (PS-I) 

MLP-002624 (SAM-PS1) (01) “Hybrid Initiatives based on Exposome approach to leverage safer Human Health & Environment”. 

Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Environmental Microbiology / Environmental Sciences. And 04 years experience in research & development in industrial & Academic institutions or S&T organisations and scientific activities and services. 

Desirable Qualification: Candidate with strong experience in data handling and management, data validation, report preparation and research documentations. Research data analysis & compilation using standard tools, documentation and report preparation.
