Project no-3:- Climate change impacts on ecosystem services in the Indian Himalayan region.

1. Junior Research Fellow (01 No.) @ Rs. 12,000/-pm +HRA as per Institute norms.

Age-28 years

First class M.Sc. in Botany/Environmental Science/Forestry/Meteorology/Agriculture;

Preference will be given to the candidate having experience on phenology, forest ecology, physicochemical analysis of soil, plant and water, meteorology, ecophysiology, taxonomy, biodiversity and RS & GIS with reference to Himalaya.

Basic knowledge of computer is required.

Candidate will have to work in remote forests of Uttarakhand.

2. Field/Lab. Assistant (02 No.)

@ 8000/- fixed pm

Age :35 years

Graduate with science.

Field/lab. experience of at least 6 months in relevant subject or at least 6 months computer course

In house project 4: “Ecological social and policy implications of changing water resource “, up to 2016-17.

3. Field Research Assistant (1 No.)

8,000/- fixed pm

Age: 35 years

Graduate with I orII div. in Science/Geography with background up to 12th standard is preferable with 3 year experience

Experience of working in Himalaya.

Project no-6:- Farming systems and changing climate regime: Strengthening food and nutritional security in the Himalayas. PI Dr. S.C.R Vishvakarma, Sci.-“F”

4. Field Assistant/ data entry operator/ Surveyor (01 No.) @ Rs. 8000/- (fixed per month)

Maximum 35 years

Graduate with I or II div. in Science/ Geography with background up to 12th standard is preferable with 3 year experience.

Assisting in the field survey, data sample collection, data entry etc.

Position is initially for one year; further extendable on satisfactory performance on annual basis.

Preference will be given to the candidates with working experience in the Himalayan region

Project no-7:- Understanding biodiversity patterns and processes under changing resource use and climate scenario in Indian Himalaya – ecological and social implications. PI Dr. S.K. Nandi, Sci.-“G”

5. Junior Research Fellow (01 No.)

Initially for one year.

@Rs. 12,000/- +HRA as per Institute norms.

Age-28 years

First class Masters degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Life Sciences • Conduct intensive field survey in different remote areas of the Himalayan region • Isolation, quantification and characterization of phytochemicals

Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in ecological work in the Himalayan region and/or having knowledge of handling

HPLC/GC and other instruments used in chemical analysis

Project no-8:- Promoting conservation and sustainable utilization of Himalayan biodiversity element using biotechnological and physiological approaches. PI Dr. S.K. Nandi, Sci.-“G”

6. Junior Research Fellow (01No.)

Initially for one year @Rs 12,000/+ HRA as per Institute norms

Age - 28 years

First class Masters degree Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Life Sciences

• Conduct intensive field survey in different remote areas of the Himalayan region

7. Lab Assistant (1 No.)

Emoluments (Rs. 8000/- fixed)

Age limit: 35 years

Graduate with I or II div. in science with Chemistry/Chemical Sciences/ Environmental Science/Biology or relevant subject with minimum 55% marks Experience training of analytical instruments particularly used for water / Soil and Plant testing are desirable.

Experience of working in Himalaya

8. Researchers Level-I (02 No.) @Rs 12,000/month fixed

Age - 28 years

Initially up-to  December 2014, further extension on good performance

• First Class Masters degree in Life (zoology/botany/forestry/biodiversity) / Social/ Earth Sciences/space technology (RG/GIS) with consistently good academic records.
• Conduct extensive field R&D activities; generate, analysis and synthesis of field data/information;
• Report preparation and timely submission to the Field Coordinator
• Good communication skills and computer knowledge
(DST-GBPI) Project: Indicators of climate change in the context of Himalayan ecosystem along an altitudinal gradient. PI Dr. R.S. Rawal, Scientist-F.

9. *Junior Research Fellow (01No.)

Initially for one year @Rs. 12,000/+ HRA as per Institute norms

Age - 28 years

• First Class Masters degree in botany/forestry/bio diversity with consistently good
academic record

• Conduct extensive field R&D activities; generate, analysis and synthesis of field data/ information

• Report preparation and timely submission to the Field Coordinator

10. Junior Research Fellow (01 No.)

First class Master Degree in Botany/ Forestry with good academic records.

Taxonomical/ Ecological Knowledge/Remote Sensing

To conduct field experiments in Alpine meadows.

To stay at least 6 month in Alpine region.

Preference will be given to candidate possessing NET qualification and/or having working experience in the Himalayan region. Age relaxation for ST/SC/OBC/PH/women candidates will be as per Govt. norms.
